Where does your cashmere come from, and how is it collected?Updated 6 hours ago
GOBI uses cashmere from goats raised in Mongolia. Cashmere is the fine undercoat that helps protect the animals during cold winters.
In spring, goats naturally begin to shed this undercoat. Herders collect the loosened fibers by hand combing, separating the fine cashmere from the coarser outer hair. This seasonal practice forms part of Mongolia’s herding traditions.
Learn more about the fiber and its origins on our Mongolian Cashmere page. For information about the production stages behind our core cashmere collections, explore Made by Mongolians.
